Meet Dr. Becky Coombs, DDS

Dr. Becky Van Gemert Coombs was raised in Spokane as the second of five children. She attended Cataldo Catholic School, and Gonzaga Prep High School, and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington. She spent her summers working in an orthodontic office where her tremendously rewarding experiences in patient care ultimately led to her desire to become a dentist.
Dr. Becky attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and worked as a general dentist following her graduation. Throughout this time, she particularly enjoyed working with children and decided to further her training by completing a two-year residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Washington. Her research focus during residency was tracking early access to care and establishing lasting dental homes for children by the age of one as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She has physician privileges at Sacred Heart Hospital and is on the MultiCare Inland Northwest Foundation Board.
Practicing dentistry for more than 20 years, Dr. Becky has kept up to date with the many advances in dentistry including non-invasive treatment options, as well as increasing the comfort level in many operative procedures. She has complete coursework in laser dentistry and sedation through her member ships with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and Spokane District Dental Society.
In her free time, Dr. Becky enjoys skiing, hiking, and cheering on the ZAGS! She particularly loves traveling and spending time at the lake with her husband and two adventurous children.
She also takes every opportunity to invest in the community, specifically child-related activities and charities. Dr. Becky and the South Hill team supports school auctions, sporting teams and events, Fairchild Airforce Base family events, Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Mobius Children's Center, and numerous other child and family organizations.
